Mrs Burton’s Kitchen

Project

The Burton family wanted a designer kitchen based on a contemporary Shaker kitchen for their newly renovated house in Camberley, London. The kitchen needed to accommodate their large family of six, with a large central island. A straight cornice, as opposed to the classic curved Shaker cornice, was used to modernise the style of the kitchen. The units were hand-painted in Little Greene’s Lamp Black. Brass handles and hinges warmed up the dark colour and created a feeling of luxury.

The worktops, splash-back, and sink were formed in a smooth white Corian and contrasted nicely with the textured tiles. Above the sink, solid oak open wall shelves create a focal feature. And the oak ties in the earthy, warm tones of the brass fixtures and oak cabinetry interiors. Integrated cabinetry lighting brings further warmth and depth. Along with a variety of house plants, which results in a magical combination that makes this kitchen stand out as something special.

Built-in appliances include a flush-fitted Elica Nikola Tesla Switch extractor/hob on the island. The oven tower housed a Samsung integrated microwave oven, oven, and warming drawer. Then a large Sub-Zero fridge/freezer provides chilled and frozen storage.

“We LOVE our new kitchen and are so happy to see it all come together. Jo’s advice and input have been hugely valuable and we are eternally grateful, thank you so much!!!”
