Cabinet Construction

How we build your furniture

As Furniture designers and cabinet makers, we are very particular about the way we make the furniture we design for you. Our team is made up of traditional artisans, and experts in their chosen discipline. We have time-served cabinet makers, furniture polishers and machinists as well as painters and fitters, all of whom take pride in the work they do! The majority of the furniture we build is the traditional in-frame style, where the doors and drawer fronts are set within a frame. The frames and doors are made from European Alder, a sustainable hardwood, dimensionally stable and with a smooth grain that is perfect for painting. The drawers we make are from solid oak and dovetailed front and back. They glide in and out on Blum fully extending soft close runners.

Everything we make is handmade to order, either, drawn from our extensive catalogue of designs or an entirely new design especially drawn for your specific project. We make our carcasses from oak-faced engineered hardwood which is lacquered for easy cleaning and to enhance the beauty of the oak. We use solid brass butt hinges and very powerful magnets set into the frame and the top and bottom of the doors.

The interior of our cabinets and drawers are oak, finished with a hard-wearing wipeable lacquer that continues to look beautiful after years of use. No oiling or painting on site is required.
