Contemporary Eco
Project
At the core of a contemporary, energy-efficient eco-home, this remarkable modern kitchen stands as a focal point. The homeowners, a retired couple, aimed to future-proof their new residence, ensuring longevity and adaptability for their evolving needs. To achieve this, the kitchen design prioritised low-level cabinetry, with a few mid-height units strategically placed for integrated appliances like the steamer/oven, warming drawer, and larder fridge. Additional storage, including a freezer, was conveniently located in the adjacent walk-in larder.
The clean lines of the Modern Kitchen units in a sophisticated Little Greene Scree colour are complemented by oak plinths and handle rails along the hob and sink run. Noteworthy detail is added by the cut-out shelf on the island. The worktops, adorned with a suede finish, are crafted from Silestone Classic White. The kitchen features a Bora Classic 2 integrated cooktop extractor in recirculating mode, while Miele appliances, including ovens and a warming drawer, contribute to the functionality of the space. A Kohler sink and a Hotspot boiling tap, both in a brushed stainless steel finish, complete the ensemble.
The outcome is a beautifully understated, spacious, and well-lit kitchen that seamlessly combines form and function, catering to the present and poised for adaptability well into the future.
