At The White Kitchen Company, we specialise in solid wood kitchens. All cabinets are made from 100% wood, no chipboard or MDF! For our painted cabinetry, carcasses are paulownia; frames and doors are solid beech; door panels are poplar; and drawers are solid oak. Built to last, solid wood can be repainted and reconfigured over time, so your kitchen never feels dated.
We also offer solid oak door fronts finished with a durable soft-sheen lacquer. Oak is naturally strong and stable, making it highly resistant to everyday knocks and scuffs while keeping the grain looking its best. This option is particularly popular right now, pairing painted cabinetry with oak elements for a warm, relaxed, traditional look.

For the oak kitchen units, our cabinet makers use traditional construction, which includes the mortise and tenoned, and dovetailed joint methods. We use top-quality solid brass butt hinges in a choice of 3 finishes (chrome, brass, antique brass) which are rebated into the door and will not drop over time. All our units are in-frame, meaning the doors are fitted inside the cabinet, not on the outside (like cheaper units). All of our draws have strong hidden soft close runners with a quick-release mechanism for easy cleaning

Solid wood is not only resilient, but also remarkably versatile. Kitchen cabinets are the workhorse of any home and often the largest investment, so they should be built to stand the test of time. Unlike chipboard, solid wood won’t break down with age, and it allows you to update paint colours and hardware as trends change without replacing the cabinetry.
All our doors, frames and drawers are made from solid wood. For our carcasses, we use solid paulownia, a responsibly sourced hardwood with excellent ecological credentials. Paulownia is low in tannins, which helps reduce black marks caused by moisture (a common issue with oak). It also holds its pale tone, rather than shifting towards yellow or orange over time. As natural wood expands and contracts, our carefully selected timber choices are designed to deliver the best performance in each area and remain stable, particularly important in period homes, where higher moisture levels and breathability are part of everyday life.
Easy to Install Kitchens
All of our real wood kitchen cabinets are made in our workshop as complete units, never flat-packed, so they arrive like freestanding pieces of furniture. There are no drawers to assemble or doors to hang; the units are simply fixed together during installation.
We offer a full design and fitting service, however you have the option of DIY fitting. And if you do, our team is on hand to offer one-to-one advice and help you plan the right kitchen for your space. We’ll guide you through the process from start to finish.
