Wentworth Renovation

Project

Surrounded by golf courses on the Wentworth Estate, this amazing Tarrant-built property offers an abundance of space, with historic features and truly breathtaking scenery. W.G. Tarrant was an iconic builder in the early 20th century. Alongside building homes in St George’s Hill and Wentworth, he also helped create the golf courses that sit there today. Built from hand-made bricks and tiles in the Surrey style, with tall chimneys and dormer windows, many of these houses are still standing. Switch to the present day, and our customer Marigold has renovated one of these stately homes to a level higher than it would ever have seen before.

The old kitchen design needed too much work, so it was completely stripped, redesigned, and laid out differently to suit a more modern style. Marigold decided from the very outset that she wanted bespoke cabinetry throughout her home, starting with the kitchen. All of the kitchen units were painted in Farrow & Ball’s Pavilion Grey shade, a mid-grey tone with subtle blue undertones. It suits the contemporary space perfectly, creating a feeling of airiness and spaciousness in the kitchen. The layout includes a combination of tall units, a large kitchen island, and many hidden appliances.

The style chosen was Shaker cabinets. The Shaker cabinet design offers perfect symmetry throughout the space. It is commonly used in properties built in the 20th and 21st centuries as it offers clean lines and unassuming recessed frames.

We managed to catch up with Marigold post-project completion. You can find all the room details, a full interview and how she achieved such a magnificent project on our Blog here.
