Kitchen Storage For Cabinets: Ideas To Help You Organise

Pots. Cutlery. Food. Appliances…  There are so many things that we store in the kitchen and sometimes, even in the largest of kitchens, it is hard to find the space for it all. However, when you design a new kitchen, it is always better to work smarter rather than harder. Be smart with your chosen layout and the storage worries will float away.

So to help you, here are our kitchen storage ideas which are all designed to help you utilise your space and not allow your kitchen’s beautiful design to be overshadowed by clutter. From pantries to canopy cupboards, we hope that this list will leave your kitchen clutter-free!

In Cupboard Storage: Utensil and Cutlery Drawers

In our cabinets, we offer integral utensils and cutlery drawers because we understand how frustrating it can be to have your spoons mixing with your knives, and forks mixing with your teaspoons. Having these handy inserts incorporated into your kitchen allows you the space to neatly store these in their own compartments. No more mixing of cutlery.

Choose A Larder or Pantry Cabinet

The next kitchen organisation idea is the pantry and larder cupboards which are great for hiding the everyday chaos that comes with owning a kitchen. They are brilliant for storing your food items as well as baking appliances and ingredients.

Our customers have also used our larder cupboards for a range of other purposes. For example, The Old Bake House project uses one of our freestanding larder cupboards as a home for a variety of teas from around the world and also serves as a coffee station. Alternatively, Mrs Burton uses her pantry for appliances and glassware. So, if you need some style ideas when it comes to using pantry and larder cupboards, they are certainly projects that will grant you some brilliant inspiration!

Make the Most of your Kitchen Island

Kitchen islands provide a lot of space for storage, even if it does just provide extra drawer space. If you love entertaining, adding an integrated wine fridge to your island is a brilliant way to save space in your main fridge. In addition, bespoke kitchen islands make great spaces to add shelves and store cookbooks as highlighted in the image above. Books displayed here are in a perfect position when cooking up a storm; they also add character without encroaching on the design of the rest of the kitchen.

Open Shelving

Although it is not to everyone’s taste, open shelving is a storage feature that many of our customers are now opting for. You can choose to use it for storing a range of things such as your crockery and glassware. You can also use it as a place to showcase your array of coffee syrups. Most interestingly of all, alongside using it for important kitchen items, you can use it as a decorative feature. House plants, family photos and ornaments make for great pops of personality to your open shelving.

Incorporate Cupboards Into Your Canopy

Canopies house extractor systems and we have also designed canopies which can be placed between two wall cupboards to add extra storage space. In addition, you can also choose for it to be supported by our corbel cupboards to utilise every part of your kitchen and therefore store small items here such as cookbooks, spices and so on.

Zone Areas To Help With Kitchen Storage

Finally, consider dividing your kitchen into zones for specific functions; plan appropriate storage for each area and this will create an easy sense of flow around the room.

For example, in larger spaces, you might place a dresser on a wall between the kitchen and dining areas to link them. This dresser would help to provide crockery and cutlery storage close to the dining table and dishwasher which could also be close by.

So these are our handy kitchen storage ideas to keep you organised. If you are interested in any of the features mentioned throughout this blog, feel free to contact us via our online contact form or give us a call at 01604 435835
