Solid Wood Kitchens

Traditionally Made by Craftsmen

At The White Kitchen Company, we specialise in solid wood kitchens, all of our cabinets are made out of solid European Alder. We have also made cabinets in Pippy Oak as a specific requirement. The beauty of solid wood is that it can be manufactured with precision without sacrificing any of its aesthetic appeal. Solid oak is renowned for its simple elegance and durability, also because of its strength and stability.

Looking for a Solid Wood Kitchen?

For the oak kitchen units, our cabinet makers use traditional construction, which includes the mortise and tenoned, and dovetailed joint methods. We use top-quality solid brass butt hinges in a choice of 3 finishes (chrome, brass, antique brass) which are rebated into the door and will not drop over time. All our units are in-frame, meaning the doors are fitted inside the cabinet, not on the outside (like cheaper units). All of our draws have strong hidden soft close runners with a quick-release mechanism for easy cleaning

Transparent Cabinet Pricing

It can be hard to find solid wood kitchen cabinets that are priced well and there’s no need to settle for second best when it comes to buying a real wood kitchen. Our transparent pricing allows you to create accurate plans within budget without waiting on sales quotes. You can visit our online shop or our kitchen examples pricing page.

Why Choose Solid Wood?

Solid wood is not only resilient but remarkably flexible. Cabinets are the workhorse of any kitchen, and will usually require the biggest financial outlay. No matter whether you decide to update your colour scheme and handle every so often with the changing trends, cabinets are the most important area to invest in and should be built to stand the test of time, they won’t deteriorate with age like chipboard. All our doors, frames and drawers are made with solid wood. For our carcasses, we cut strips of wood into blocks and fuse them together within two sheets of thinner wood. Natural wood expands and contracts, but our unique method ensures the wood grains cannot move for the main carcass. This is an expensive process but is necessary to ensure our units last and do not warp. This is especially important in period homes, where more moisture is present, and the building needs to breathe.

Easy to Install Kitchens

All of our real wood kitchen units are delivered fully made and as whole units, like a freestanding piece of furniture. There are no drawers to build or doors to hang, just fix the units together. Our team are on hand to offer advice and one-on-one time with you to discuss your kitchen needs. Don’t worry, we’ll take you through the process from start to finish.

For a long-lasting and durable family kitchen, our Solid Wood kitchens are an outstanding choice second to none for both quality and price.
